HAVANA
Havana is the capital of Cuba
Founded more than 500 years ago, Havana
is a large city with about three million inhabitants. It possesses an impressive diversity of architecture in its unique mixture of periods from the colonial era to the modernity of the 1940's and 1950's. Here you can enjoy a varied cultural interaction, ride in classic American midcentury model cars, or walk the neighborhoods and transport yourself back in time within each neighborhood to a different era. From colonial Old Havana to the mansions and hotels of Vedado developed by La Mafia between the 1930's and 40's. You can visit several museums and places of activity and socio-cultural projection, from dance and music of many styles to varied cuisines, historic and contemporary arts, architecture, literature, spirituality, economics, and politics.
LAS TERRAZAS
West of Havana
An artist colony and ecologically minded community, belonging to the province of Artemisa. At this site you can be in contact with art, nature, and ecology. One of its biggest attractions is the "Baños San Juan,” a terraced river surrounded by cabins and restaurant. Crystal clear and cool waters await you on this famous river to spend some time relaxing. Culture also has its appeal in the area. A significant artist of Cuban music was born in this community and visitors may access entry to the museum of his home. Also, visit the studios of several world-recognized painters.
SOROA
The western province of Artemisa
This town contains a nature reserve of international appeal. An environment of lush natural beauty, the sun and the tropical rain combine in a special way to explode into impressive rivers and waterfalls. It is declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It still preserves in very good condition the ruins of the coffee industry from when the colonial era. Its orchid garden and waterfalls are well known internationally.
VALLE DE VINALES
Belonging to the province of Pinar del Río
This area is very picturesque, It is known as Viñales National Park, where the Valley of that name is located. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it defends its naturalistic essence by offering several excursions which we will be in the position to offer you. The tobacco plantations, the rare mountain formations within the valley, the cave system with boat navigation, all that and more you can enjoy in this special region of the province of Pinar del Río.

PLAYA GIRON
East bank of the Bahia de Cochinos
Since the time of the pirates Playa Girón was the focus and meeting of great battles. Francis Drake also attacked the place without success. The Playa Girón historic museum focuses on the history of Cuba and the events that occurred during the US-Cuba conflict at the Bay of Pigs. The surrounding area of Zapata Peninsula is an extensive wetland of great ecologic diversity, particularly known for its varieties of birdlife.
VARADERO
Resort city in the province of Matanzas
Varadero has almost 20 miles of fine white sand beach and is regarded as the best and most famous beach in Cuba. All along its peninsula are hundreds of hotels and resorts. In the nineteenth century this city reached notoriety when the wealthy families of the region began to install their mansions on the beaches. The Mafia was no stranger to this fact and in the first decades of the twentieth century they began to occupy land; today it is a reason to visit the mansion of Al Capone and other wealthy people such as the Dupont family with their Xanadu mansion. You will be able to take a tour of the home of the creator of a very famous rum in Cuba and visit his properties, as well as learn how alcohol was smuggled from Varadero to the United States during the Prohibition era. The area around Varadero possesses great natural beauty and archaeological evidence to explore, and there are many activities to enjoy apart from relaxing on the beach and taking in the vibrant restaurant and nightlife scene.
CIENFUEGOS
Nicknamed La Perla del Sur
(the Pearl of the South)
Cienfuegos is a not very large city, but one of the most beautiful in south central Cuba. Its architecture is eclectic with abundant neoclassical decorations, it is highly envied throughout the country, and it is said to have inspired by some French neighborhoods. This city will be visited mainly as a city of passage, where we will take food and some moments of relaxation walking around its historic center and harbor front. Cienfuegos shares a sister city relationship with Soul of Cuba Travel's home office in Tacoma, Washington.
TRINIDAD
Belongs to the province of Santci Spíritus
Trinidad is a completely colonial city, one of the most authentic in Cuba, and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1988. Trinidad is as if it were a town that has stopped between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. Its state of conservation is impressive, the best preserved in Cuba. It is the third villa founded in Cuba by the Spaniards in 1514. It is considered as the museum city of Cuba, here we will have different activities, one of the most attractive is to discover its streets, colonial architecture, and visit different spaces to enjoy art and music. Not only will we concentrate on the attractions of the village, but we will go to the outskirts towards rural areas. We will visit the Valley of Los Ingenios where there are still ruins of the early sugar industry. The Topes de Collantes Natural Park in the Sierra del Escambray with its beautiful ecology and a series of waterfalls, all considered among the most beautiful in Cuba. You can go hiking or ride on horseback until you find these spectacular cascades.
SANTIAGO DE
CUBA
Second city in importance and population
This is the second city in importance and population in Cuba. Its location in the southeast of the island faces the Caribbean Sea, where a large part of the slaves transferred from Africa entered. This early developed city (Cuba’s first capital) received a strong cultural burden which still prevails, which we will see in the beautiful architecture of the city center. A lot of Afro-Caribbean culture awaits us in this city; it is a place specially to know the history and modification of certain music and dances. Santiago has the privilege of giving birth to a very famous musical genre "Son Cubano" We will learn about these issues and other Creole customs of the region.
GUANTANAMO
"La Tierra del Guaso"
This city in the extreme Oriente (east) has a multicultural explosion unique of its kind in Cuba. It possesses different artistic manifestations creating a concentric world of cultures. Dance, of traditional, folkloric, and contemporary styles occupies a central place in the culture of the city, being one of the provinces outside the capital with the largest number of dance companies of recognized prestige. We will be in direct contact with this dance movement in different activities of interaction with the artists. The same could be said of music; Guantánamo created and maintains the traditional Changüí genre, which consists of music, song, and dance, forming a unique genre of its kind in the country. We will know the interiorities and secrets of an already ancestral musical rhythm, always being in contact with the artists of the genre. We invite you to see up close all that magical universe of African, French-speaking, and native cultures, set amidst the city unique for its eclectic and art deco architecture. On the outskirts of the city, we will include a visit to a stone zoo (the only one of its kind in the world)
BARACOA
La Primada de Cuba,the first Spanish village
National Monument of Cuba, located within the province of Guantánamo. Baracoa is the first villa founded in Cuba by the Spaniards in 1511. This city is hidden between mountains and sea, so it has a first level importance for ecological tourism in Cuba. It offers a beautiful endemic vegetation along with its fauna. Without a doubt it is an exotic and unique place in the Cuban geography. Baracoa has it all: unique beaches, incredible rivers- the most beautiful in the country- archaeological sites, nature reserves and national parks protected by the Biosphere with endemic animals that can only be seen there in Baracoa. We will visit all these attractions, we will also give an approach to the culture of this region (music), which is unique in its kind. The food of these regions is another thing that only belongs to them, featuring abundant fresh seafood, tropical fruits, coconut, coffee, and chocolate. It is a paradisiacal site that we will discover in all its cultural and ecological variants.
